Mountain lions could soon be protected under California law

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Mountain lions could soon be protected under California law, but some say the move would strip vital protections from residents.

This week, the California Fish and Game Commission will vote on a proposal to list the Central Coast and Southern California mountain lion populations as endangered.

The move would prevent people from being able to “harass, hunt, shoot, capture, trap, kill, collect, wound, harm” them – a protection some say could be costly…
