Man in Custody After Loomis Guard Shot at Chase Bank

(KNUE-FM) Not sure if you heard, about this but last week there was a suspect apprehended in Texas after an armored vehicle employee was shot during a robbery of a Chase Bank in Balch Springs which is just southeast of Dallas.

What Happened in the Balch Springs Robbery?

According to WFAA, the incident was reported to law enforcement around 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning near Balch Springs Road and Lake June Road. The victim in this case was taken to the hospital in critical condition but was alert and responsive when being transported.

FBI and Local Law Enforcement Response

One of the ATMs at the bank location appeared to be open as police were investigating the crime that took place. The FBI also joined local law enforcement in the investigation, and a canine unit that responded to the scene.

Investigation and Arrest Details

Police confirm that the suspect shot the Loomis armored vehicle employee and then escaped on foot with one bag. He was able to slip into a neighborhood behind the bank. The police K9 unit searched multiple times but even after drones and helicopters were added to the search, the suspect got away.

The FBI had surveillance of the suspect, so it was only a matter of time. And now the FBI confirmed a suspect was in custody, and there is no on-going threat to the community.
