Troy “Trombone Shorty” was just four years old in May 1990 when he made his first notable public appearance. Bo Diddley noticed the young musician carrying his instrument around the fairgrounds and invited him out on stage. While still a teenager Andrews toured the world with Lenny Kravitz. Trombone Shorty has long since become a notable global artist in his own right and this spring, he will be feted via a special event in his native New Orleans to mark his 40th birthday.
