BCSO: Narcotics suspect dumps backpack with $250K drugs into Guadalupe River during high-speed chase

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — A 20-year-old man is facing drug charges after the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office captured him following a high-speed pursuit Monday morning, officials said.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said their Organized Crime Unit was recently notified that Christian Lopez, 20, would be traveling through Bexar County with large amount of drugs in his possession.

According to BCSO, deputies attempted a traffic stop at I-37 and Fair Avenue, causing Lopez to flee the location, which prompted a pursuit The pursuit continued through Bexar County and into Guadalupe County and as Lopez reached the river near Seguin, he bailed out of vehicle.
