Police: Owner flees after dog bites victim in Overland Park

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) – Overland Park Police are searching for an owner whose dog bit someone over the weekend – then left without providing any information.

Investigators say the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, near 54th and Goodman Lane. The victim suffered injuries to their hip.

Police describe the dog as:

  • Medium-sized pit bull mix
  • White and black
  • Wearing a blue harness

The owner is described as:

  • Older white male
  • About 6-foot-2
  • Smoking a cigarette
  • Wearing a gray shirt or flannel
