Chandler Unified School District’s decision to hire its next superintendent from outside the district is historic, breaking with decades of promoting leaders from within.
The CUSD Governing Board selected Dr. Anna Battle to be its first outside superintendent hire in at least 50 years. One board member said the decision reflects concerns about a growing lack of trust in the district.
