Man charged in Zephyr Pointe Apartment shootings found guilty

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – The man accused of opening fire on a group of people at the Zephyr Pointe Apartments in 2023 has been found guilty of attempted murder.

The jury returned a verdict for 20-year-old Frank Hewitt Monday night, finding him guilty of 7 counts of attempted murder, 5 counts of battery with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of child abuse with a deadly weapon and more.

Hewitt has been in custody since December 2024, accused in the shooting, as well as for another shooting in June of 2024 at the Sparks Marina. Hewitt is still facing charges in that investigation…
