Demi Lovato is hitting the brakes on their upcoming “It’s Not That Serious” tour, but it’s all for a good cause: prioritizing their health. The Grammy-nominated artist announced on Instagram Tuesday that they’re adjusting the tour schedule, canceling five shows and pushing back the initial start date.

Originally slated to begin in Charlotte, N.C., on April 8, the tour will now kick off in Orlando, Fla., on April 13. Lovato shared a message with fans, expressing excitement to be back on stage but acknowledging the need for a more sustainable pace.

“While starting to prepare for the tour, I realized that I have overextended what may be possible,” Lovato wrote. “To protect my health and ensure I can give you my all at each show, I need to build in more time to rest and rehearse and ultimately adjust to a schedule with some more time off that will allow me to handle the entire run of the tour.”

The North American leg of the tour was initially planned for 23 stops. In addition to canceling the Charlotte stop and shifting the Orlando date, shows in Atlanta (April 12), Nashville (April 14), Denver (May 5), and Las Vegas (May 8) have also been canceled.

Fans who purchased tickets for canceled dates through Ticketmaster or AXS will automatically receive refunds. Those who bought tickets via third-party resellers are advised to contact those platforms directly. Tickets for the original Orlando date will be honored for the new April 13 show.

This tour marks Lovato’s return to the road since their 2022 “Holy Fvck” tour, after previously stating they were done with touring. The “Cool for Summer” singer concluded their message with enthusiasm, stating, “I am so excited for this tour and am looking forward to seeing so many of your faces singing with me.”
