CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Aging Untold) — Alice Taylor works five days a week, eight hours a day as a seamstress for Dillard’s, handling all the tailoring for Dillard’s three store locations in Charlotte.
At 85, Taylor represents a growing trend of older Americans re-entering the workforce, known as “unretiring.” While reasons vary, including rising cost of living, some say they want to make connections and find purpose.
“Supposed to work. In order to get what you need, you have to work for it,” Taylor said.
