First of 2 teens sentenced over 2025 homicide that stemmed from argument

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – One of two teenagers linked to a 2025 homicide was sentenced Tuesday, avoiding a lifetime of prison.

A judge in Allen Superior Court handed 19-year-old Jayden Xavier Cosme a six-year sentence for his role in the killing of 59-year-old Laron Duane Rosse.

This past May, Cosme – then 18 years old – and 19-year-old Jaylen Murray were accused of getting into an argument with Rosse that escalated into a physical fight. Murray was the one who allegedly shot Rosse multiple times before the two teenagers fled the scene.

Rosse was later found dead at his Wells Street home…
