GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — This Saturday is not only Valentine’s Day, but it’s also National Donor Day, a time to raise awareness about organ donation and celebrate all the lives that have been saved. This year, Gift of Life Michigan has a lot to celebrate. The organization is proud to announce that the number of Michiganders that have registered to be organ donors has increased to about 4.6 million people.
“That alone is good news – seeing that increase, seeing those numbers rise. When we got the numbers emailed to us, we were legit celebrating,” said Kenneth Henderson, who serves as a community relations coordinator with the organization.
