Officers search for hit-and-run driver after pedestrian is seriously injured in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – Gainesville Police Department officers are investigating a hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian on Monday.

Officers say around 6 p.m., a pedestrian was seriously injured after being hit on Southeast Williston Road near the Sugar Hill neighborhood.

The driver fled the scene of the crash in the direction of East University Avenue. Officers say the front of the suspect’s dark gray 4-door Nissan was damaged in the crash, causing the hood to crumple. A piece of the vehicle recovered at the scene matches either a 2006-2012 Nissan Altima or a 2008-2015 Nissan Maxima…
