A 30-year-old Ocala man is facing a felony theft charge after he allegedly tried to drive away in another man’s vehicle that had been left running outside a local smoke shop.
On Wednesday, January 14, an Ocala Police Department officer responded to the Mayfar Smoke Shop (2400 SE 36th Avenue in Ocala) in reference to a stolen vehicle. The male victim advised that he entered the store after parking his Toyota Camry, adding that he had left the car “running with the keys in it,” according to the arrest report.
The victim advised that while he was inside the store, he saw another man – later identified as Ladarian Labrenta Allison – enter the Toyota through the driver’s side door. Moments later, Allison allegedly “put (the vehicle) into reverse and began to pull out of the parking spot to leave.”…
