Too big for their bridges. Santa Rosa to divert trucks from historic Bagdad

A community of about 4,300, Bagdad’s claim to fame is its history as an early mill town and the charm of the homes that line its streets.

A couple of those streets though, have become a shortcut for big trucks getting off of Interstate 10 and cutting through town to get to what most residents figure to be the Love’s Travel Stop on Garcon Point Road.

“It’s got to be,” said resident Carl Whitson. “Before that came they had no reason to get off the interstate.”…
