This past weekend the City of Salem received a total of 4 inches of snow, and Roanoke College is still feeling the chill. Many students took advantage of the snow days by sledding down many of the college’s steep hills, like the path to the Hawthorn Parking Lot. Other students were in their dorms with the heat cranked up, figuring out which restaurants they could DoorDash from. Even those from the North, who are used to the snowy conditions, were upset when Taco Bell made the tough decision to close Saturday night.
By the time this article is published, you can now DoorDash your heart’s desire, and the pathways to your classes should be mostly clear. The City of Salem and Roanoke College Buildings and Grounds have worked hard over this last week to ensure that students can get to class safely. Make sure to give them your thanks if you see them around campus.
In the Roanoke Valley, some areas of higher elevation received more snow than “Sunny Salem”. Botetourt and its surrounding towns received up to 5 inches or more of snowfall.
