Indiana man pleads not guilty in 1975 San Diego cold case murder

SAN DIEGO — More than half a century after a brutal killing in San Diego’s North Park neighborhood, the man accused of the crime faced a judge for the first time on Tuesday.

71-year-old Johnnie Salisbury pleaded not guilty during his initial court appearance in San Diego. Salisbury is accused of killing 34-year-old Edmund LaFave, who was found dead inside his home on the 2900 block of Suncrest Drive on Feb. 25, 1975.
