OREGON, Ohio — The future of a proposed data center in Oregon is uncertain after city council rejected an emergency ordinance Tuesday night that supporters say was critical to keeping the project alive.
The ordinance, which would have amended the city’s development agreement with site developer Capacity LLC, failed on a split vote. Three council members supported the measure, while council members Beth Ackerman and Paul Gibbs voted against it. Councilman Dennis Walendzak abstained, and Councilman Dave Andrus was absent.
