Appleton man charged with stabbing his wife

APPLETON (WLUK) — Rolando Valenzuela-Barrera was charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide for allegedly repeatedly stabbing his wife Sunday in the face and chest.

Barrera was ordered held on a $1 million cash bond. A preliminary hearing was not immediately set.

While arguing bond, Outagamie County Assistant District Attorney Isaac Lenz noted Valenzuela-Barrera has been deported at least twice previously, although he did not say to where. Lenz did not say if federal authorities have placed a detainer on him in this case.
