Green Bay man sentenced to prison for 5-vehicle Main Street hit-and-run

A Green Bay man was sentenced Feb. 10 to three years in prison for causing a crash on Main Street that affected five vehicles, then leaving the scene, which Brown County Circuit Court Judge Samantha Wagner said was the most aggravating factor.

“If there is an accident, people in this community deserve to know that the person who caused it or others around them will step in to make sure they’re OK,” Wagner said at Anthony Jovanovic’s sentencing.

Jovanovic, 42, pleaded guilty Dec. 5 to two counts of hit-and-run involving great bodily harm, two counts of hit-and-run involving injury and one count of hit-and-run of a person. Misdemeanor charges of resisting or obstructing an officer and bail jumping were dismissed through a plea agreement…
