BELLEVUE, Neb. — Offutt Air Force Base has announced plans to host a free public air show on Saturday, Aug. 8 and Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, as part of celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of American independence. Residents and visitors are encouraged to save the date as event details and performer lineups will be shared over the coming months.
The upcoming show continues a tradition of air demonstrations at Offutt. After a six-year gap caused by major challenges, including the 2019 floods, the COVID-19 pandemic, and extensive runway work, Offutt successfully brought back its popular Defenders of Freedom Air and Space show in August 2024, drawing tens of thousands of spectators over two days.
