‘One bad apple can spoil it for the whole bunch’: New Orleans Mayor warns krewes about inappropriate parade behavior

Mardi Gras is meant to be a time of celebration, but City of New Orleans Mayor Helena Moreno says unsafe behavior by some riders during the Krewe of Carrollton parade crossed the line. Forty one riders were removed from Float 10 during Sunday’s parade after NOPD says riders were intentionally throwing items aggressively.

“I’m not going to have a bunch of idiots out there on the parade route go try to ruin it for everyone by trying to hurt people,” Mayor Moreno said.

She said the issue was not limited to a single float, calling the behavior unacceptable. Mayor Moreno said she was shown a photo of a young girl who was injured during the incident…
