There was plenty of swerving Tuesday afternoon as drivers tried to dodge a large hole in the street just south of 40th and Normal. Sonja Buchanan tells KLIN News she was traveling northbound on 40th Street when the car in front of her suddenly veered.
“There was a little car in front of me, and we were trucking along, and all of a sudden they just swerved,” Buchanan says. “They caught just the edge of it, so I knew it was something, and I swerved too.”
But another driver wasn’t as lucky. “I think I was about five feet back before I realized it was actually there,” says Annika Limbach. “I tried to swerve out of the way without hitting anything, but my tire clipped it.” Limbach says one of her front tires was flattened, though she was able to get her car off the street…
