A week ago, we were just beginning to melt off the snow and thaw out after being in the deep freeze. Today, we were not only chasing record highs, we also set them in a few locations. It’s been a remarkable turnaround, but not uncommon in the world of weather, where you go from one extreme to another.
Temperatures at such lofty levels this time of the year typically don’t last long, and a cold front is set to sweep Monday’s warmth away. We’ll still have some warm February weather to enjoy before then, though. That includes the overnight temperatures that will tend to be warmer than average highs this time of the year. Temperatures will climb quickly on Tuesday, with 60s to the north and 70s to the south.
