Father survives being shot in the head overnight at Keizer Station in first of 2 shootings

KEIZER, Ore. — Police are investigating two separate shootings that happened overnight outside a strip mall in Keizer, the first of which left two people injured. One of the people hurt was a father shot in the head while driving members of his family, the Keizer Police Department said.

According to KPD, the first shooting happened near the intersection of Keizer Station Boulevard and Ulali Drive Northeast around 10:15 p.m. A vehicle with a family inside was leaving In-N-Out Burger and going through the intersection when they “had their windows shot out,” police said.

A father behind the wheel of the family car was struck in the head and suffered a serious injury, KPD said, but is expected to survive. He drove their vehicle to the Keizer Fire District where they were helped by medical staff. He was then taken to the Salem Hospital Emergency Department for treatment…
