After hearing from businesses about the challenges with the city’s sign code, Salem leaders are pausing sign code enforcement for six months.
Salem City Manager Krishna Namburi informed business leaders of the change at a Salem Main Street Association meeting. Her office confirmed the pause on Feb. 6.
“The City has been hearing a number of concerns from businesses regarding the sign code,” Namburi said. “We recognize that the sign code is complex, and that navigating the requirements and permitting process has been challenging for some business owners.”…
