Hoosick Falls closed again, prepares for remote learning

Hoosick Falls, NY (News10) – The Hoosick Falls central school district is closed for the second day in a row, as they work to repair their heating system. It’s down due to some broken pipes, with a staff member commenting on water pouring from the bathroom ceiling.

Superintendent Patrick Dailey said they are preparing for remote learning for the remainder of the week.

“It’s a difficult time when you have to pivot to virtual learning, for anybody, with families at home and children,” Dailey said. “So, we know how difficult that is and we want to thank the community and the parents for their support.

The central school district is 1100 students, K-12. Since the schools are attached, all grades are affected. The district is putting out a statement later to provide more details and instructions for parents and students, who are eager to get their belongings from their lockers before going on school break next week.

“The school’s not shut down. They can come into the building. You can see it,” Dailey said, looking around the main entrance vestibule. “So, they can come here and get what they need and we’ll provide what they need to do the work they need to do for the next three days.”…
