Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Eastway Division. Officers were called to the scene in the 3000 block of Timber Hollow Drive following reports of an assault with a deadly weapon, as reported by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Upon their arrival shortly after 2 p.m., they found one individual suffering from what appeared to be life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was subsequently transported to a local hospital by MEDIC but was pronounced dead. At the scene, a person of interest was detained by the officers, indicating a swift response to the violent event.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Public Affairs Office stated that the Homicide Unit detectives took charge of the investigation, with the Crime Scene Search team processing the location for evidence.
