Shakers Public House, the Worthington restaurant and bar whose chicken wings are regularly ranked among central Ohio’s best, plans to open a tavern in Grove City.
Owner Spencer Campbell has purchased Grove City’s Hop Yard 62 and said he hopes to reopen it around April 1 as Dapper Dog Tavern. The 24-tap, craft-beer bar at 4057 Broadway, closed Feb. 7.
“It gives us a foothold in Grove City, which we’ve wanted for a long time,” said Campbell, who opened his first Shakers Public House in the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus until the Georgesville Road location was destroyed by fire in 2023.
