Michigan woman arrested in connection to homicide of Fort Wayne teen

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Michigan woman was charged Monday in relation to a recent fatal shooting on the city’s south side.

Kristina Burch, 29, from Kalamazoo, was charged with obstruction of justice, a level 6 felony, according to court documents.

On January 28, Damion Jacobs, 19, was found unresponsive by the Fort Wayne Police Department in the parking lot of an apartment complex on the 6100 block of Holgate Drive around 8:35 p.m. Originally dispatched as a man down call, officers arrived on scene and attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead on scene.

The Allen County Coroner performed an autopsy the next day and determined that Jacobs’ cause of death was a gunshot wound and the manner of death was homicide…
