KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knox County Juvenile Board of Directors met on Tuesday to address leadership transitions and even news of an official license from the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services for the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Detention Center.
Oversight of the facility was turned over to the five-member board following leadership troubles that led to the longtime director stepping down and the new interim director was quick to follow.
The news of the license from the Department of Children’s Services came during the meeting, marking a major step forward after the center went three years without one.
