MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — Two years after Mobile’s RV City was closed, revelers are still finding ways to stay close to the Mardi Gras parade route downtown.

WKRG News 5 caught up with a group of campers off North Franklin Street in Downtown Mobile.
“We’ll cook for friends. Usually seafood, fried shrimp, oysters, and all that. And everybody has fun,” said camper Peter Tanner.
“We just kind of hang out and cook Hall’s sausage and enjoy ourselves,” said camper Scott Presley.
RV City underneath I-10 near South Water Street was booming with people before it was shut down to be turned into a construction zone for a new Mobile bridge and a parking lot for the cruise terminal, which is where Tanner and Presley set up in the past…
