PBC education center marks 40 years of impact with gala, new school opening

JUPITER, Fla. — The Edna W. Runner Education Center, an institution that has supported generations of at-risk students and families across Palm Beach County, will celebrate its 40th anniversary with a gala later this month, marking a major milestone as the organization prepares to open its own elementary school this fall.

This year’s fundraising gala, “Celebrating 40 Years,” will take place Saturday, February 21st at Admiral’s Cove in Jupiter, beginning at 5:30 p.m. The theme, “Rooted in Education, Blooming with Success,” speaks to the Center’s legacy and continued growth as it looks ahead to its next chapters of service.

“This means a lot for our community,” said Executive Director Travis Conway. “We started out as a church, with a small dining hall. Looking at our center now… it is astonishing to see how far we’ve come.”

Opening a New School in August

In one of its most ambitious expansions yet, the center will open its own elementary school this August. Enrollment is already underway for kindergarten and 1st grade. The move represents a major step toward increasing educational access and providing families with a more comprehensive academic pathway from early childhood through adolescence…
