NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A New Orleans crime camera expert, whose network was instrumental in identifying a suspect in the Bywater arson spree last month, said FBI investigators have clues to work with in the video evidence revealed Tuesday (Feb. 10) in Nancy Guthrie’s apparent kidnapping case in Arizona.
Project NOLA’s Bryan Lagarde said the images released Tuesday in the search for the mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie could be better. But he said they give investigators much more with which to work.
For more than 20 years, Lagarde has operated the nonprofit crime camera network Project NOLA, helping to solve many crimes with high-definition surveillance images and more recently facial recognition software.
“If this crime had occurred here and involved Project NOLA cameras, we will be looking at the backpack, the stripes on the backpack anything that we could to try and find something that would uniquely identify a suspect,” Lagarde said…
