ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Over the course of four months, Albuquerque Police Department detectives watched closely as, they say, Benjamin Siegling and Allan Mercado conducted a series of 36 burglaries of high-value household appliances at the Target off Paseo and I-25.

“Sometimes these offenders, they will select a certain dollar amount to avoid the felony charge,” explained Lt. Conor Ollqusit of APD’s Property Crime and Investigative Services Division. And so within a 90-day window, if they steal a specific amount of items that is just a misdemeanor, we can combine the charges and move it up to a felony.”…
