‘We should be doing this’: California targets repeat DUI offenders following Fresno tragedy

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Several California lawmakers are introducing new laws designed to stop repeat drunk driving, an effort supporters in Fresno say can save lives.

It comes nine months after 19-year-old Jordan Galvez and 18-year-old Maddux Greene were killed in a May 2, 2025, crash at Clovis and Shields avenues in Fresno.

Investigators say the driver, Jagat Singh, was on probation for a 2023 DUI conviction and was driving a stolen car the night of the crash. Singh has since pleaded not guilty to murder charges.
