GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A Grand Rapids city commissioner gaveled in for his final meeting Tuesday after announcing that he will be stepping down to run for higher office.
Grand Rapids’ 1st Ward Commissioner Drew Robbins announced his resignation and intention to run for Michigan’s 84th State House District at the Jan. 27 commission meeting. The district is currently represented by Rep. Carol Glanville, D-Walker, who is running for state senate.
Robbins, who was elected in 2022, called the decision “bittersweet.”…
