One dead, one injured after wrong-way crash on Hwy 411 in Maryville

MARYVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One person is dead, and another was injured after a crash on Highway 411 South in Maryville.

Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp said the crash took place at 7:41 p.m. on Highway 411 South near Ridgeway Trail. He told 6 News that a 2009 Chevrolet Sedan veered into the center turn lane and hit a 2023 Kia sport utility traveling south in the left lane.

The driver of the Chevrolet Sedan, a 29-year-old man, died following the crash, while the driver of the Kia, a 31-year-old woman, was taken to UT Medical Center for serious injuries.

Dashcam video showing the crash shared with 6 News shows a vehicle going into the southbound lane and hitting another vehicle before appearing to stop near the center lane.
