LAKELAND, Fla. (WWSB) – Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 36-year-old man Tuesday in connection with a porch package theft in Lakeland.
Deputies arrested Carlos Silva on Feb. 10, 2026, after investigators said a victim’s Ring doorbell recorded a man approaching her front door and taking a package valued at about $70.
The investigation began Jan. 26, when deputies responded to a Lakeland home for a report of a stolen package. The victim told deputies the video showed the suspect wearing a hoodie and baseball cap and carrying an empty DoorDash delivery bag. Investigators said the suspect turned his back to the camera to conceal his face before leaving in a dark-colored SUV.
The next day, the victim called again after finding the discarded box near her trash bins. The contents were missing…
