City of Lansing agrees to settlement in 2020 jail death

LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The family of a man who died in the Lansing jail in 2020 has reached a settlement with the city to resolve a federal wrongful death civil rights lawsuit

Lansing City Council approved the settlement agreement at Monday night’s meeting. The deal was finalized Monday in the last moments of preparation for trial in the Western District Court of Michigan.

Judge Jane M. Bickering signed the settlement order on Tuesday.
