MacDill contractor’s jilted lover told authorities he shared classified information with her: docs

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A former Army colonel and contractor working at MacDill Air Force Base will spend time in jail after revealing classified information to a woman he was dating.

Kevin Charles Luke, 62, pleaded guilty last year and “admitted to abusing a position of public trust,” a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

While working at CENTCOM in 2024, he sent a text message to a woman he met online that said “sent to my boss earlier, gives you a peek at what I do for a living,” accompanied by a photo of his computer screen. The photo showed an email with classified markings that discussed “a planned U.S. military operation as well as the future date of the operation, the means of executing the operation, and the goal of the operation,” according to court records…
