The disputed closure of a community corrections center in Wilmington is scheduled to happen in a matter of weeks.
Wilmington City Councilwoman Shané Darby is hosting a meeting on the local impact of closing the Plummer Community Corrections Center this Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. at the Police Athletic League on North Market Street. Darby is hoping to hear from residents as well as anyone with personal or family experience involving the Plummer Center.
“This is a community conversation and a call to action,” Darby said “Families who have loved ones incarcerated deserve to be heard. The Plummer Center played a role in keeping families connected and helping individuals successfully reenter society. Decisions of this magnitude should not be made without community voices at the center.”…
