EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — On Wednesday, the Sun Metro bus service will hold a private ceremony to remember the victims of the deadly explosion on the first anniversary of the tragedy.
In the ceremony, the City of El Paso said Sun Metro will observe a moment of silence in memory of Ruben Ibarra and German Garcia, the two fleet technicians who died and the seven others who were injured after an explosion rocked the Sun Metro headquarters on Feb. 11, 2025.
“While time has passed, we still grieve the loss. Remembering our transit family members, who left us too soon, brings us strength and peace,” said Sun Metro Director Anthony Dekeyzer. “On this day, we also want to thank first responders for the bravery they showed while rushing to provide aid, and to our City leaders and the community for showing us kindness and support as we worked to move forward with the spirit of compassion and unity in the face of adversity.”…
