ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — A man wanted by authorities was spotted at a Rockford bar on Tuesday night and was arrested after trying to run from pursuing officers, police said.
According to court records, Jacob Bennett, 29, was wanted after failing to appear in court on prior charges for cocaine, stolen handgun possession, and domestic violence.
He was seen at BJ’s Place, at 2841 11th Street, around 6:45 p.m. When officers with the Rockford Police’s Specialized Community Oriented Police Enforcement (SCOPE) team moved in to take him into custody, officials said Bennett ran, throwing a handgun during the pursuit…
