Gustafson’s announces reopening after temporary closure of Rockford store

ROCKFORD — Gustafson’s Furniture and Mattress has announced its reopening after a temporary closure of the 98-year-old family-owned business.

Gustafson’s, 6651 E. State St., had asked customers for patience last week as it worked through an indeterminate shutdown. The company had said it was restructuring as longtime owners Dale and Trina retire and David Gustafson and Christopher Gustafson take over operations.

“We are not closing. We’re back on track and excited about what’s ahead as we continue providing quality, affordable furniture to Rockford,” the company wrote Wednesday in a message on Facebook. “Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We’re ready to make 2026 a great year.”…
