LAFAYETTE, La. (KMDL-FM) – As we get a little further into a new year, there are currently 20 people listed as Lafayette Parish’s Most Wanted Fugitives by the Lafayette City Marshal’s Office. The offenses range from 1st and 2nd OWI charges to domestic battery.
Let’s take a look at at a few of the 20 fugitives that the Lafayette City Marshal’s Office are currently looking to find.
Lafayette Louisiana Wanted Fugitives
In Louisiana, and anywhere in the U.S., someone becomes a fugitive when they are wanted by law enforcement and are actively avoiding arrest or failing to comply with a court order. Failing to comply with a court order can be anything from failure to appear in court, leaving town or the state to avoid charges, actively knowing about a warrant and hiding, and more.
Someone doesn’t automatically become a fugitive just because they’re accused of something. They become one when there is an active warrant and they are avoiding lawful custody or court obligations…
