Mystery Law Enforcement Agency Tied to Hayes Street Shooting in Northeast D.C.

Hayes Street NE turned into an active crime scene yesterday afternoon after a shooting involving law enforcement near the 3700 block, according to officials. The Metropolitan Police Department confirmed it was not the agency involved and declined to say which other law enforcement body was on scene. Investigators shut down the 3600 and 3700 blocks of Hayes Street, from Kenilworth Terrace to Anacostia Avenue NE, in both directions while they combed through the area.
