One person is dead and two others injured following a single-vehicle crash that happened last night in Wicomico County. Police identified the driver as 18-year-old Matthew Garcia of Rockville, Maryland. Investigators say Garcia was driving a Honda Civic around 8:41 p.m. on South Division Street near Coulbourn Mill in Fruitland when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign, entered the intersection, and lost control. The vehicle struck a guardrail and came to rest in Coulbourn Mill Pond. Speeding is believed to have been a factor. Garcia was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to a trauma center, where he later died.
