At the Gainesville City Commission meeting held on Thursday, February 5, officials heard from the mother of Tyrone Davis, who lost his life on Archer Road near the I-75 overpass on December 27, 2025.
Officers with the Gainesville Police Department reportedly said Davis’ death was “not suspicious” and that their “initial investigation determined Davis jumped out of a moving vehicle while in traffic, sustaining significant injuries to his head.” However, GnvInfo hasn’t obtained any official police reports showcasing how officers came to this conclusion.
GnvInfo submitted a records request and received a one-page incident report that doesn’t contain many details on the incident, as the case is an active investigation.
