Grand Rapids Schools Superintendent Leadriane Roby gets 1-year contract extension

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Grand Rapids Public Schools Board of Education voted 5-2 Monday, Feb. 9, to extend superintendent Leadriane Roby’s contract through June 30, 2027.

The one-year extension request was made as Roby approaches the conclusion of her current contract term, according to a district news release.

“Our work together began in the midst of a pandemic. Rather than standing still, we pushed forward by launching a new strategic plan and facilities master plan that set a bold course for the future,” Roby said. “The results speak for themselves: higher test scores, record graduation rates, teacher vacancies cut in half, buses running on time, and a historic investment in our schools.”…
