FSU softball makes it look easy against Liberty with top competition on deck

No. 5 FSU softball (6-0) easily moved past the winless Liberty Flames (0-6) with an 8-0 run-rule win on Tuesday night in front of the home crowd. It was the last game before they increase the ante over the next few games when they play in the Clearwater Invitational.

FSU pounds out 11 hits, five by freshmen, led by Marin Heller’s three hits and two RBI. Haley Griggs has two RBI, and Makenna Sturgis drove in a run.

Jazzy Francik went four innings, finishing with two walks, one strikeout, and allowing two hits. She wasn’t her usual self with the walks. However, freshmen Marlee Gaskell and Bella Dimitrijevic continue to look impressive and gain experience early this season…
